We believe that as more of these educational resources become available, future generations of children will see Canadian literature with new eyes.
They will develop a new love for literacy and seek more diligently to be part of the process. By doing so they will naturally be more attracted to higher quality literature and illustration, and less attracted to books based on commercial entertainment alone.
With this new generation of passionate, well educated and qualified talent, perhaps, more and more Canadian publishers will find security in expanding their houses without needing to rely upon foreign commercial characters and merchandise.
Our common goal in Canada, is to find ways to insure that our worldwide reputation for quality children's literature remains bright and strong for future generations.
The Elf and Toadstool Canadian Writing and Illustrating Centre.
Imagine a place where you and your children can explore great links to amazing resources, discover pictures to download and colour from a limited edition story book and are even encouraged to submit your own stories!
This and much more await you at The Elf and Toadstool Canadian Writing and Illustrating Centre. Our mission here is simple...to encourage children and adults to become more involved in creating a new generation of quality children's literature. To that end we are constantly seeking out authors, illustrators and organizations who are willing to become part of our family of contributors and mentors.
Whenever you or your company donate to this important cause, you are providing opportunities for talented individuals to realize their dreams of becoming future authors or illustrators.
We provide all of our 'child and family friendly sponsors' with a link to their site.
